Aftercare instructions
• Leave bandage on up to 5 days. Take bandage off IF it starts to fall off and expose tattoo, it leaks, or if you have an skin issue with the bandage. The plasma will be dark and murky under the bandage. This is normal.
• The derm will protect your tattoo from infection, abrasion, irritation and contamination while it is going through the most important part of the healing process.
• You can perform all usual activities, including exercise, while your tattoo is covered with the derm. Be sure not to bump or rub your new tattoo excessively or do anything that will scrape or peel the covering off.
• Remove your bandage & take a short shower using mild liquid soap (Dove, Dial, Ivory) & hot water. Wash tattoo thoroughly with your hands (NO POOFIES OR SCRUBBIES). DO NOT force the skin loose in the shower. This will cause you to lose ink.
• When you get out of the shower, pat tattoo dry with a clean towel and let the tattoo air dry for at least 15 minutes.
• Use fragrance-free lotion (Lubriderm, Vaseline Int Care, Curel) to massage tattoo. Rub lotion into your skin thoroughly (with clean hands) every 3 hours, for 2 weeks, until lotion dissipates.
• Tattoo might flake & peel. If it does, DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH. Doing so will pull out your ink.
• No soaking, sunbathing or swimming for the next 2 weeks + bandage time (up to 5 days).
• After 2 weeks plus bandage time, use the strongest sunblock available as long as you care about your tattoo.
• Typical healing time for a tattoo is 10–14 days. Please continue massage for the full 2 weeks even though the tattoo may seem healed.
